ABC Wednesday - D

(The Wordless Wednesday post is beneath this post.)

D is for Dartboard .......

a well used red and white dart board

A macro shot of a well used dart board.

The red and white sections create a neat pattern, and the many holes give it character.

I am not sure how the numbers along the side work in the point scoring system, but they have their share of holes in them too.

  5. Nice picture of your dart board and the first one I've seen today. I love to play darts but haven't for years.

  6. I agree that the red and white pattern is nice. I'm curious what the wall around the dart board looks like. I'm only allowed to play with the magnetic darts where I can't hurt anyone. :D

  9. you're right in saying that the holes gave it character - a blend of rough and smooth, good and bad.

  10. Try this page from the World Darts Federation for a description of the game.
Very briefly the numbers 1-20 [not consecutively] refer to the segments. A dart landing in the segment scores that number of points. On the outside of the board is a section between two wires. Darts landing in the section score double. There are two other circular wires inside which creates small areas - darts landing therein score treble - in the centre of the board are two small circular areas - the inner (scoring 50) and outer (25) bull.
