ABC Wednesday - S

S is for Soft yet Sharp .......



a furry cat paw with sharp claws



While the cat was dozing on the warm hood of the car, I slowly and quietly crept up on him and snapped a few photos.

This soft, furry paw is so enticing to stroke - the fur is almost hiding his sharp claws.

I've seen them in action many times, and I would not want to cross this tough little feral cat.

After cracking open an eye to prove I wasn't getting anything over him, he cast a disgusting glance at the black box that is always after him, and went back to napping.

Nothing was going to interrupt his warm delicious nap on this chilly afternoon.

    Hah, great capture but the story brings it to life. I have a cat in my lap as I type this, and I've seen that "look" before.

    Thanks for the heads up Peteej - but I think it's unfixable.

    Cats have such distinct personalities and are not shy about showing their emotions!

    I now have a cat! He appeared over Thanksgiving , almost named him Pilgrim but it is too hard to say so Ben will have to do. It should be interesting , it has been a while.
    Great pic and Ben is the same color!

    Oh, that looks so nice. To have fur in this cold.... and maybe claws would be useful somethimes too ;-)

    Hi Denise - I like macros, so I am surprised he just doesn't reach out and cuff the camera away. Sometimes he get do disgusted, he takes off at a run when he sees it coming his way.

    Yo DO have a feral cat. I tried to pet the one I showed on my blog and got a swat in response. The cat's not ready for touching - yet.

    Annie - ours took a long time for us to be able to pat him. Even now, if we don't look "just right" to him, he takes off like a bolt of lightening. Give yours time, he will come to want your pats.

    AVCR8TEUR - he's the one and the same. He is a tough one to catch though - have to wait until he's ready, then the light is usually gone. But when he cooperates - it's great!

    Bob - making bread, LOL! - that just means he's extra happy! We used to have one that would wake up my husband by kneading on his beard - they would both hit the ceiling everytime!
