K is for Ketchup .......
It was the July 4th, Independence Day, celebration, and we had arrived early to stake out a good spot for the fireworks that would begin at dusk.
The smells of cotton candy, steak subs, and french fries filled the air.
Our bag of snacks contained celery, carrots, and popcorn, but the boys were giving it disgusting glances as they mumbled something about taking a walk around the park.
Next thing I know, they come back with wide smiles and trays of french fries with ketchup on the side.
After giving in to a couple, I snagged a tray before they were all gone and snapped a photo.
It was the only good image of the night - the fireworks ones came out really bad. Will have to try again this year.

Ooh, fries - yum. We call them chips here in the UK - and I'm not allowed any as I'm on a diet! Never mind. Raw carrots are just as nice (I can pretend!). Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteHa! I'm glad you at least got a good ketchup shot!!
ReplyDeleteKetchup is a good choice for this week. I had a hard time thinking of one, but did find something, come on by if you find time.
ReplyDeleteYummy! I can practically taste that ketchup and fries.
ReplyDeleteWhatever would we do without ketchup?
ReplyDeleteWho can live without ketchup these days? My grandson has it on absolutely everything! Says he doesn't like something or it's new, just douse it in ketchup! lol
ReplyDeleteKetchup and fries was my children´s favorite lunch when we had Moules Frites
ReplyDeletemmmm
That`s a great idea for K.Have a nice day:o)
ReplyDeleteLooks tempting - too tempting...
ReplyDeleteThere have been many food shots today, so it was a good job I had eaten my breakfast, otherwise I would have had to find some chips as we call them! LOL!
ReplyDeleteA yummy one! Nice photo and a nice K!
ReplyDeleteHave a fun Abc-Wednesday:)
I cannot see the ketchup for drooling over the fries. Now you have made me hungry.
ReplyDeleteGreat concept

Mmmm, could just eat those now.
ReplyDeleteThis looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteI'm hungry now! Though I would dip them in mayonnaise!!
ReplyDeleteGraet shot of fries, and ketchup, those look like some good greasy fries the best type, too bad about the fireworks shots.
ReplyDeletelove the fries, hope to see your independence day fireworks photos for this year.:)
ReplyDeleteThe only good fireworks pictures I ever took were with a tripod. I know someone who puts ketchup on almost everything.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your visits and comments - I will be visiting you all shortly!
ReplyDeleteGracious, those chips look decadent!! I wouldn't mind some right now actually!
ReplyDeleteKathy, you have made me both hungry and nostalgic for warm summer nights that smell of french fries!
ReplyDeleteYUM. Thanks for making me look more forward to summer! :)
Hi kml.....love the ketchup!!! Thanks for the nice comment on my "K"...the castle is there on the signs as our town hall resembles a castle. The guy that developed our neighborhood loved Scotland and named all our streets and town after cities and places in Scotland...you can check out the town hall "castle" here.
ReplyDeleteThose fries look delicious! I also love chocolate covered frozen bananas at fairs.
ReplyDeleteGreat colour contrasts in that shot. I agree with everyone else - delicious!
ReplyDeleteFireworks are so hard to capture. Good luck this year.
Funny story Kathy, lol, you have captured what made boys happy the most, lol. Thanks for sharing, btw these do look so goooooood....Anna :)
ReplyDeleteHubby and I were hungry and after seeing this K shot he said I need a good hamburger and fries, lets go get something to eat...so we did. Hence my late commenting on your pot.
ReplyDeleteOh, those chips (fries) look delicious! DownUnder, we call 'ketchup', tomato sauce....nice on chips/fries but I'm not a fan of it otherwise. My kids like the fry sauce they sell in the States but they don't have it here. I think it's basically a mix of ketchup and mayo, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!
