T is for Toe Socks .......
Having a pair of these colorful toe socks was all the rage back when I was a teenager.
When I saw them in a store a couple years ago, I couldn't resist buying a pair for my daughter.
Needless to say, she was quite unimpressed and folded them away in her drawer and soon forgot them.
When they reappeared in the "give away" pile, I couldn't help rescuing them for a few shots.
They will find a spot in my drawer - to be worn when it is least expected - just for old times sake!
Stumble It!
Digg It!

Socks tell a tale in our house...Jon's thick blue ones mean we have been out on a bike adventure, his black ones mean he has been working at the workshop, his white ones mean he has been relaxing, watching the TV! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing, claim the little gifts I've given that I find in the "give-away" box. I wouldn't have bought it or made it unless it appealed to me one way or another - and so I must have it. In my drawer. Where I will see it and laugh or smile or maybe even smirk every now and again.
ReplyDeleteVery bright and colorful toe socks. Never wore any toe socks but have seen them a lot.
ReplyDeleteHa ha Denise! We have different ones for different seasons!
ReplyDeleteExactly, Annie!
ReplyDeleteAndrea - they feel a bit odd - the toes really don't like being separated.
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute with all the differant bright colors, i bought some for my granddaughter a few years ago, don't know if she ever wore them tho. Nice T post
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, are you sure we don't share the same daughter, mine too has a load of these that she dosn't wear, into leg warmers at the mo.
ReplyDeleteCheers Mark
Toe socks - that's a new one to me. I don't think they are much used around here. Would add a bit of colour to those dreary old black ones, though.
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
Love your T post. I remember those socks too. Sometimes our kids just don't understand our memories.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter gave ME 6 pair of toe socks for Christmas last year and I'm still wearing them.
ReplyDeleteYour toes do get used to being seperated after a while. :-)
I like the bright colors.
haha... i remember these things, i never quite understood them, and i don't think i ever saw guys wearing them... but i don't think i'd like the idea of so much constrait in my toes... anyway...

ReplyDeleteThanks, Photowannabe - no they don't, but someday they will.
ReplyDeleteHappyone - I used to love them! Welcome to ABC Wed - I have added you to my list.
ReplyDeleteHi Jim - I think it was a girl's thing - I don't recall too many guys wearing them - though you never know these days.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to ABC Wed - you're on my list.
They sure made a colorful picture! I don't think I ever had any but I do remember seeing them.
ReplyDeleteThose are very colorful! I like to wear many beautiful cat fashions, but I do not like things on my feets. Even colorful socks.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful colors and you did a great job capturing them.
ReplyDeleteToo cute tootsies! I'm glad you rescued them.
ReplyDeleteNice shot : )
ReplyDeleteI love the toe socks~!
ReplyDeletethat is her job, to make sure she doesnt like anything that you did!
ReplyDeleteNice pic and good pick
I don't think they would be comfortable, but they sure are cute and as you pointed out, were once a great fad. You've made me remember my black-and-white vinyl psychedelic pattern raincoat that I wore in the 60s, along with penny loafers and knee socks!
ReplyDeleteMy sister had a pair of those. She used to wear tem around the house -- but as I recall the toe bits didn't fit all that well. Very colorful photo subject.
ReplyDeleteBobbie
Sock it to em hun, great colours, very bright and perky
ReplyDeleteVery nice picture, that brings back memories for me as well, we bought them for the kids but they were in then and they loved them, wow it's amazing how time flies, photos have a way of making you think of the past.
ReplyDeleteKathy I love coloful socks especially the one on your photos. I think I have little personal addiction to socks, it is recent, I guess I am changing a bit, lol. Anna :) BTW this is very nice photograph.
ReplyDeleteI never quite understood these toe socks. My toes don't really like being separated from one another.
ReplyDeleteYou gotta be kidding me..Toe socks?!! LOLOL!!!! How long does it take to put them on KML? Are they warmer than regular socks?
ReplyDeleteHa ha Rick! Glad they made you laugh! They are kind of a pain especially when the toes don't cooperate. They are made of yarn rather than cotton - so they are a bit warmer, but like gloves , I always thought my hands stayed warmer in mittens.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Bob, photos do have a way of doing that!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anna - glad you liked them!
ReplyDeleteGreat pic! I remember 'toe' socks well, however, I could never wear them because my toes couldn't handle being separated from one another. :)
