B is for Balance...........




We take a trip to visit the ocean a couple of times during the year. We stopped by in the early spring on a gray, rainy day. Yesterday's trip started out the same way, but the afternoon turned into a glorious one. Walking along the shore with the sea swirling around our ankles, we discussed how much we needed this little reprieve. To feed our souls as only the ocean can do. Bringing it's own special balance and contentment.

  It was a very gray day the last time we visited the ocean in the spring. And from what the weatherman is saying, it will be this time we go too. I don't  mind the gray as long is there is no rain. It just doesn't go with the camera equipment, and I am so itching to use my new camera at the ocean. My fingers are crossed it holds off until the afternoon. Wish me luck!

A is for Anchor...........




We are now beginning our 9th round of the ABC Wednesday meme. Founded by Mrs Nesbitt several years ago, it has been quite popular and most enjoyed by all the participants.  A big thank you to her and the team for keeping it together for us all! On to the letter A....... It's very large and the rust has taken on a life of it's own, but this anchor draws much attention as the center piece at a learning center beside the ocean. Much of it has flaked away, and in spite of it's once great strength, it has become fragile as it spends it's final years on land beside the water. A piece of history, for sure, and if it could talk, I bet it would have some great adventures to tell.

  Gate Blocking the Field - My World



  Last week I showed an image of a path that lead to a field. This week's post is the entrance to that field. That pretty path of last week is way over on the left of this field - too far to see in this photo. The farmer is the one who holds the key to this gate so he can get in with his tractor. All that crushed stone was added in the last year. Before it was there, the mud was ankle deep all year round as there is a little stream that runs right across that entrance. 

ABC Wednesday - Z is for Zodiac

  

Z is for Zodiac...........




In astrology, the Zodiac is a circle that is divided into twelve equal zones that line up with the celestial constellations that are determined by the position of sun during the equinoxes. Each "zone" is approximately 30.4 days long, and the time of the year we are born in determines which zodiac sign we are. I was born during the zone of Cancer, the Crab. Which means I am a water sign and my ruling planet is the moon. Since the ocean is my most favorite place to be, I guess I fit right in with my zodiac sign.

  Path to the Field - My World



  The whispy clouds had just the right pose. The spring green buds on the trees add their own special touch. The blue sky was perfectly vibrant, and the sporadic green grass creates a beautiful lead into the scene. This path leads to field of grass that is used for haying by a local farmer. A most beautiful spot in the spring! 

ABC Wednesday - Y is for Yankee

  

Y is for Yankee...........




The word "Yankee" is defined as: an inhabitant of the USA especially of New England. One of the thirteen original colonies, my state was the one the rest depended on to sign the constitution papers that made the US a country. Since New Hampshire is one of the six states that make up New England, that makes me a Yankee for sure. Happy 236th Birthday, America.

The Lake in the Spring - My World

  The Lake in the Spring - My World



  A view of our lake just after it reached the level it will be at for the rest of the summer. That picnic table down there under the tall pine is our favorite - you get a good view of both sides of the lake from it. This image is one of the first ones I have taken with my new camera, the Sony A580. To me, the colors are so vibrant, more so than with the A100. I am quite impressed with the quality of the images straight from the camera. Sony did really good with this one!
