H is for Huddle .......
The boys high school Lacrosse team huddles to discuss the next game tactics.
After raising their lacrosse sticks and giving a shout for team spirit, they take up their positions on the field.
I never realized just how aggressive this game is until I watched them play.

ReplyDeleteHi Runee - Lacrosse is a lot like hockey with the rules and positions, but it comes from the native American Indians in our country. The players use the sticks with nets on them to carry the ball and throw it to their teammates. The opponents hit the sticks, which are held against their chests, to knock out the ball. The protective gear they wear under their uniforms is thick and much more that a hockey player would wear. You hear those sticks whacking the players all through the game. It is quite aggressive from a mother's standpoint!

ReplyDeleteWe did Lacrosse briefly when I was in school - that's one fast game, and about as aggressive as hockey I think! I was useless.
