ABC Wednesday - H is for Hitch

H is for Hitch..........

a shiny new lock on a trailer hitch

Starting with just a bare frame, by son built himself a trailer.

He purchased the wood and cut it to fit.

Some electrical wire, lights, and plugs that go to the back of the truck to supply the power.

Tires and wheels came next.

Then the end of the hitch that fits over the ball on the truck to pull it along.

This is the locking part of the hitch - so shiny and new.

Won't stay like that for long though - Mother Nature will take her toll on the metal.

But keeping it oiled correctly will keep it fine for many years.

This was the first time he attempted this type of project, and we all couldn't have more pleased with his results.

This is the tenth round of ABC Wednesday. If you would like to join in please visit this site for the details.

  3. How appropriate that I read your post this morning. We just returned from an RV trip and I am the one that directs husband to back up truck to hitch up to the trailer. It took 3 tries this trip. Oh well.....

  4. I love the way that photo was taken- it looks like an armchair just ready to be rested on. You should take another photo when its all rusted and as you said mother nature has made her presence known.
