ABC Wednesday - N is for Needle

N is for Needle............

a threaded sewing needle with a spool of thread

I can remember when I was younger, my grandmother always had me thread her sewing needles for her.

She had a really hard time seeing the hole that the thread went through.

I always loved helping her, thinking - this is really an easy job.

Fast forward 40 years, and now I am the grandmother.

Gram was right - those holes are pretty much non-existent and it takes me forever to get a needle threaded these days.

But with the help of a magnifying glass, it does get done, as does the job it is needed for.

This is the seventh round of ABC Wednesday. If you would like to join in please visit this site for the details.

  5. Great N post. Even when I was a kid, I often used a needle threader. That's before I even needed glasses!

  6. I do now have a needle threader but when I'm buying needles I must admit I do look for ones with larger length holes and avoid the embroidery variety if at all possible. 'squint - squint' :)

  7. You can get a needle threader at any crafts store... it will make it much easier.
