Crazy Corn on the Cob
The corn on the cob is just starting to come into season in our region.
While shucking a recent bunch, I have been discovering something a bit strange as I peel back the husks.
There were actually three ears of corn growing in this one.
I noticed last year that once in a while there would be one of these little ears in with the big one, but this one was certainly a surprise.
In all my years of corn eating, I have never run across this.
I can only think that it must be all the genetic engineering going on that is creating these abnormal veggies.
I must say though, it certainly hasn't affected the taste - they are so delicious!
I have never see anything like this before.

ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you and everyone else Kathy. I actually don't like to think of what the future holds for my grandchildren and great grandchildren.

It did make for a very nice and interesting picture. But, it is a little scary!!
That is pretty cool. I've never seen that with corn. It makes you wonder a bit doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love corn. I've never seen a baby corn growing with a regular ear like that. I have to agree with everyone else that the genetic engineering is scary. I hope that's not what's causing it!

You know Kathy, when you said three, I automatically started to think about the genetics, lol, they say that corn is number one genetically altered vegetable. Excellent capture, you really have good eye for the stock photography. Thanks for sharing. Anna :)
