Calcium While Dieting

Calcium While Dieting

calcium tablets in a bottle

Losing weight had got to be one of the hardest things to do. The temptations are everywhere and not everyone in the house is on a diet. The cost of food is skyrocketing, so buying different foods for the dieter is getting harder too.

I have been searching around on-line for a weight loss diet plan that might work for me. There are tons of websites - all having different ideas.

I read an article on one site about the calcium that is found in soy. It reminded me that I really need to pay attention to the consumption of it, and it stated that it "lowers grazing cravings". Boy - I really need to pay attention now - I pick way to much between meals. Anything that can help would be great.

I also need some exercise motivators. It never used to be a problem but the older we get the harder it is and the more aches come from doing it. One wrong move - even just a small one, and we pay for weeks. It does feel good to complete a workout - it's just the getting started part that I am having a problem with.

One thing I am learning though, taking it slow and eating healthy will help me maintain my loss and keep it off long term. And a positive outlook helps too!

  1. All you said is so true...I am not very good at remembering my calcium....and I should as I don't like milk..better it doesn't like me!
My daughter is a big advocate of vegetarian but not for me thanks! I am trying to incorporate daily exercise to get in shape and it is going very slowly! but slower is better! and those aches and pains I didn't used to have make it harder to want to do ....well...enough said about that! Good luck!

  2. Good luck with your attempts to lose weight. I should, but if I got away from the computer and did more gardening, I'd be off to a good start!

  3. I have been changing my habits over ten years, I am 40 pounds lighter now by doing it slowly and it tends to keep it off longer, about twenty five more pounds and I will be done.

The photography has helped a bunch it gets me out and about hiking in those hard to get to places.

BTW I sure know about those temptations, oreo cookies are killers :)

  4. What you say is so true about dieting. My wake up call came up after a heart attack and a by-pass operation.
What I have done was to change my lifestyle and mindset towards food. I am something of a fanatic, so my way way is rather extreme. but it suits me.
A good book that has recently been published is Optimum Nutrition Made Easy, by Patrick Holford.
You can also go to his website, www.patrickholford.com and do his on line test.
I discussed my lifestyle change for what it's worth in a recent post - http://themaxefiles.blogspot.com/2008/06/matters-of-heart-taking-stock.html
Best of luck with your diet
